Professional Stucco Work
Are You Thinking About Stucco Work?
As a building material, stucco is attractive, durable and best of all, weather resistant. Traditionally stucco is applied in three layers: a scratch coat, a brown coat, and a finish coat. The two base coats are either applied by hand or by a spray machine. The finished coating can be troweled (smooth), hand textured, sanded, floated or sprayed.
Stucco is valued as a siding material for its durability, attractiveness, and low maintenance or upkeep. Stucco can be applied directly to concrete or brick and applied to a paper wire mesh called a lath. Stucco can also be applied to wood frame or other materials. It is very versatile. Did you know that stucco does not require painting? A stucco home can be refinished simply by adding another layer of colored stucco and not require painting. In contrast, concrete can be colorized but if not done properly, the color will fade due to the sun’s UV rays.
